Riding along the plains upon a white horse, this masked vigilante has managed to capture the imagination of millions people. There appears to be something almost universal (and I hate to use that word) quality in the Lone Ranger that continues to resurface again and again in our pop culture. We have different names for him now - Batman, for starters - but the archetype is the same. There's always a mask involved. The hero arrives at the most bleakest hour of need, and when the trouble is vanquished, the hero vanishes as if he had never been. I'm speaking from observations, not from any citable source, but it seems from all the movies I have seen that we crave a guardian angel with brass knuckles. It's too bad there isn't a Lone Ranger in the banking world who could prevent a foreclosure. One could only dream.

Personally, I have no real experience with The Lone Ranger. My father loved listening to his adventures, but I never caught the same joy as did he. In any case, I managed to acquire a whole bunch of these episodes, so I hope you enjoy as much as my dad did. Just note, some of these episodes are fragmented or sound like they have been recording in a blender. Just shoot me a line if you bump into any of them, and I'll take a look.
