Hall of Fantasy is a show I started collecting when I got the old time radio bug. When I was trolling the web, looking for sites with free downloads (you'll be amazed at how hard it is to find them) I found this one site run that was devoted to this show. Week after week, I downloaded each and every episode, knowing the precise times it was updated. Honestly, I didn't know what to think of the show. I liked it but it was weird kind of like - such as the way you like to see car accidents. The show had a dark undercurrent that radiated a kind of despair of the human spirit. Shows like "The Wild Huntsmen", "He Who Follows Me", and even the "Castle Lavoca" depict grim circumstances with no redemption at all.

"He Who Follows Me" is the worst of the lot. And by worst, I mean the creepiest. In it, a young couple visit a crypt while touring Europe. By just entering this crypt, they unleash a terrible supernatural presence that quite literally follows them all over the world so it can kill them. I mean ... what the hell? They didn't take a dump in the corner or anything. They just stumbled into a random crypt. I don't know why that story haunts me. It seems so damn unfair for that couple to endure such torment for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time (which of course, the wrong time was all the time). Had I heard that story as a kid, I think I would have gone catatonic. Being stalked is a scary thing. No matter how brief. Can you imagine being stalked non-stop across the world? Every time you'd think you were safe, you'd hear those strange footsteps. Getting closer. Always closer. You'd go mad. There's no way around it.

In any case, enjoy the shows and of course, think twice before you enter any buildings :).
