The 2009 Friends of Old-Time Radio Convention

Listen Up!Looking to attend an old time radio convention to meet other fans of the golden age? Well, there’s one just around the corner, taking place in Newark, New Jersey. There looks to be a lot of actors from all the shows that we have grown to love. The convention runs from Thursday to Sunday which hosts a great bunch of interviews as well as live reproductions of shows. If you have an interest in meeting the voices of yesteryear, this is definitely a good time to go. A lot of these actors are not younger, so this convention might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a personal window into the past. In any case, if you do attend, do let me know. I’d love to see photos and hear about the event.

I attended these conventions when I started collecting 30 years ago and they are terrific! Especially the re-enactments. Glad to see they are still going strong. Too bad I now live on the left coast or I would be there for sure.

That sounds like it must have been a blast. Especially thirty years ago when a lot of old school actors were still with us. If you have any pictures, I’d love to check them out.
